Don't miss this rare opportunity to hear incredible local music and experience our tropical greenhouse after dark. The greenhouse will be open to ticketholders until 9pm. The concert, beginning with Extra Classic's set at 8pm, will take place in our Orchid Pavillion event space behind the main greenhouse.
Proceeds from this event support the Conservatory of Flowers, a nonprofit historic landmark in Golden Gate Park and the oldest public wood-and-glass conservatory in North America.
Rachel White of Sub Pop describes Heron Oblivion as "a mesmeric compilation of English folk rock and earthy West Coast psychedelia." The band features the lovely and ethereal Meg Baird on drums and vocals. Baird's solo album "Don't Weigh Down the Light" was released in June of 2015 on Chicago's Drag City label. Longtime SF musician and sartorial savant Ethan Miller of Howlin' Rain and Comets on Fire contributes bass and vocals to Heron Oblivion.
The beloved SF band Extra Classic is anchored by songwriting couple Alex and Adrianne deLanda, whose mutual love of vintage Jamaican dub and psychedelic rock inspired the highly dance-able group's formation back in 2011.
Join us for this rare night of great music and nighttime enjoyment of the Conservatory!
Beverages will be available for purchase from local SF favorites Magnolia Brewing Co.
