Going Extinct! After Hours at the Conservatory
It's a bedrock rock at the final 21+ after hours event during the run of the Conservatory's latest exhibit, Plantosaurus Rex. Enjoy this last chance to sip some suds as you wander a primordial paradise of plants from the time of the dinos when giant ferns, spiky horsetails, and primitive cycads grew in lush abundance and fed many of the monstrous reptiles that roamed the earth millions of years ago. Dress in "cave couture" for free entry, and strike a prehistoric pose in our Photobooth with all your neanderthal friends. Brewtruc, San Francisco's first TapRoom on wheels, will be
parked out front, serving Social Kitchen craft beer, brewed just a few blocks
away at 9th and Irving. Hot Bike, the sustainable mobile kitchen of Apothecurious, will
be serving up savory grilled cheese and sweet desserts.
Then learn to create a tiny world of succulents, rocks, and moss, encapsulated in a mason jar terrarium with Brandi, owner of Urban Bazaar and the Succulent Bar. Supplies are limited, so come early to be one of the first 200 visitors to go home with a mini terrarium of your own design. Or hop into the Sketch-a-saurus booth to create a new dinosaur species in the multiplayer drawing game "Heads, Bodies, Tails."
21 + only. Valid ID must be shown at the door. Entry $5; Drinks $5.
